...Or should I say "Marmalading"?
Oranges, mandarines, lemons, bitter oranges, bergamots are nice and mature at this time of the year. So what's better than a delicious homemade marmalade?
Today we are doing an Orange, Mandarine and Lemon Marmalade (well, my lovely husband is doing it, I am just the "comis de cuisine" as they say in french which basically means: kitchen boy). It is a long process that needs patience but the result is delicious and the extra bonus is the intoxicating aromas of the citrus that fill the house.
I will show you below pictures of the whole marmalade ritual!!!
Step 1. Boiling the fruit.
Step 2. Sterilizing the jars in the oven.
Step 3. Cut the peel in Juliennes.
Step 4. Keep the pips and boil them to get the pectin out of them.
Step 5. Add the sugar and the strained liquid from the boiled pips to the rest of the ingredients. Cook on the fire until it becomes transparent.
Step 6. Final result. The marmalade is ready into the jars.
